This style gets it’s name from The Black Canyon in Colorado just west of Gunnison, Colorado. If you drive west on highway 50 towards Montrose, Colorado, you will travel through the Blue Mesa Reservoir and up through the canyon.
If you choose to explore the trails of the famous national park, be sure you watch for poison ivy at the bottom of the gorge and throughout. It’s also home to the fastest bird in the world flying up to 200 mph in aerial dives, the Peregrine Falcon.
